Instructor's Educational Philosophy:
I as an instructor will do all I can to assist in the learning process, but
the ultimate responsibility lies with each individual student to do what is
needed to acquire knowledge, advance and achieve one's goals. To benefit most
from the concepts and techniques presented, the student should practice until
all assignments are completed and full understanding of the material is grasped.
Tutoring: You will find assistance at the MATH TUTORING LAB (room SAM 100/102, offers "drop in" help, open daily). Also check out COLLEGE WIDE TUTORING (near the library on the second floor). Both are free!

Week Two:
Exponents and Polynomials 5.4, 5.5, & 5.7
Week Three:
Factoring Polynomials, Factoring 6.1, 6.2, & 6.3
Week Four:
Factoring Polynomials, More Factoring 6.4, 6.5, & 6.6
Week Five:
Rational Expressions 7.1, 7.2, & 7.3
Week Six:
Rational Expressions 7.4, 7.5, & 7.6
Week Seven:
Roots and Radicals, 8.1, 8.2, & 8.3
Week Eight:
Roots and Radicals, 8.4, 8.5, & 8.6
Week Nine:
Quadratic Equations 9.1 & 9.2
Week Ten/Eleven:
Quadratic Equations/Introduction To Functions 9.3, 9.4, 9.5, & 9.6
Course Purpose/Overview/Goals:
To have students acquire the mathematical skills needed for success in their
next math course.
Student Assignments: There is one
assignment per week. The maximum points that are available on each assignment
are 5, for a total of 55 assignment points.
Exams: Two Midterm Exams and one
Final Exam (100 points each) for a total of 300 Exam points. Final Exam will take place 8:00 - 9:00 AM on Wednesday, June 18, 2014.
